What do you need to know about getting StubHub tickets?
Are you new to StubHub? Here's what you should know.
StubHub is a fantastic site for purchasing concert and sporting event tickets.
In rare situations, such as when purchasing tickets at the last minute, purchasing on StubHub may result in savings.
Some people would rather spend their money on experiences than on objects. If you belong to that category, you may be the type who plans ahead of time for concerts and sporting events. And if so, you might be interested in StubHub if you've never used it before.
StubHub is a ticket marketplace where anybody can offer tickets for sale, as opposed to Ticketmaster, which sells tickets directly to customers. You might use StubHub if you bought tickets to an event but were unable to attend due to a scheduling difficulty. You might also try StubHub to get tickets to an otherwise sold-out event.
If you're unfamiliar with StubHub (and perhaps even apprehensive about utilizing it), here are a few important things to know.
1) It's the actual thing.
Purchasing tickets on StubHub ensures you a seat at whatever event you want to attend. Not only will your tickets be authentic, but you will also receive them in time for your event. In fact, StubHub claims that if there is a problem with your tickets, it will source you equal or better seats for your event or will reimburse your credit card in full.
2) You will be charged fees.
StubHub, as you might assume, charges a price for its services. What makes things difficult is that there are no set fees. Instead, those fees may vary depending on factors such as ticket price and demand. Reading between the lines suggests you should expect to spend more for tickets to a big-name event and less for tickets to a more mundane event.
3) If events are canceled, you are covered.
Events do not always proceed as planned. Musicians can become ill, and athletic events can be rescheduled. When this occurs, you are entitled to a full refund on your purchase, including any fees you paid.
4) Purchasing last-minute tickets may result in a great deal.
Sellers frequently advertise tickets on StubHub weeks or months before an event. However, when those events approach, their prices may fall due to a lack of a customer. So, if you wait until you're just a few days away from an event, you might be able to get a terrific discount.
5) You do not pay if you list tickets that are not purchased.
StubHub will collect a commission from any tickets you sell through their website. However, it will not charge you a price simply to list your tickets, so there is no risk there.
Can you buy the tickets on StubHub after the game has begun?
It all depends.
If you want to buy tickets after a game has started, there are a few things to consider, and it all boils down to the ticket distribution methods available for the game.
If instant download tickets are available, you can normally buy them until 30 minutes, or up to 1.5 hours in some situations, after the game has begun.
However, because each league and team handles StubHub sales differently, you must use caution. MLB has barcode connectivity to enable rapid distribution, although many teams will choose to restrict listings from remaining active after the official start time.
The NHL typically uses mobile transfer tickets and allows listings to remain up for about an hour after an event has begun, but keep in mind that there may be a minor delay between when you make your ticket purchase and when they are actually transferred to you due to the process involved in completing the mobile delivery process.
If an event only offers hard stock tickets, you normally cannot buy them after the event has started (since hard stock ticket listings are removed roughly 2-3 days before the event), so there is no way to acquire tickets after the game has already started.
However, if the event has LMS (last-minute services), it is undoubtedly feasible to get tickets after the event has begun, usually for a long amount of time after the game has begun.
LMS is essentially a ticket drop-off/pick-up facility near the venue where you can pick up your ordered tickets, usually for high-profile events. Consider the Super Bowl, The Masters, and so on.
To be assured that tickets will be accessible from StubHub after an event has gone on sale, simply call customer service, and they should have all the information you need.
