If a person has a confirmed ticket but is unable to travel, the ticket can be transferred to a member of his or her family, including father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, or wife, rather than to a friend.
To transfer a ticket, an application must be made to the chief reservation supervisor at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train, along with ID verification.
Government officials can transfer their tickets to other government officials, while students can transfer their tickets to other students.
Change in the Name of a Passenger Holding a Confirmed Reservation, as specified in IRCTC
1. Except as otherwise provided, a berth or seat reserved in a person's name shall be used solely by the person and shall not be transferable to any other person.
2. The Railway Administration has allowed the Chief Reservation Supervisor of major stations to allow a customer with a reserved seat or berth to change his name in the following circumstances:
(a) If the passenger is a Government Servant on duty and has the required authority, he or she makes a written request 24 hours before the scheduled departure of trains.
(b) Where the passenger requests in writing, 24 hours before the train's scheduled departure, that the reservation made in his name be transferred to another member of his family, i.e., Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, Son, Daughter, Husband, and Wife.
(c) Where the passengers are students of a recognized educational institution and the Head of the institution makes a written request 48 hours before the train's scheduled departure that the reservation made in the name of any student be moved to any other student of the same institute.
(d) If the passengers are members of a marriage party and any person believed to be the Head of such party requests in writing 48 hours before the train's scheduled departure that the reservation made in the name of any member of the marriage party be moved to any other person.
(e) Where the passengers are a group of National Cadet Corps cadets and any officer who is the group's leader requests in writing at least 24 hours before the train's departure that the reservation made in the name of any cadet be switched to any other cadet.
Such a request will only be granted once. In the case of items (c), (d), and (e), any request for change that exceeds 10% of the overall strength of the group will be denied.
How do I transfer my plane ticket to someone else? Is it conceivable?
You simply cannot. Airlines have restricted the ability to transfer your ticket to someone else for "security reasons." Another explanation is that they are attempting to prevent probable fraud if the transfer policy stays in effect. One might just purchase inexpensive tickets and resell them at a higher price to others.
If you made a name mistake when booking or your last name changed due to marriage or divorce, you can have your name updated or fixed. In the latter two circumstances, you must present proof of documents proving the changes.
Now, returning to your response. There is currently no policy that allows you to transfer your ticket to another person. The only alternative left is for you to cancel the ticket and re-book it in that person's name. That being said, there are a few airlines that do have this facility, so check with the airline's policy. If they have a transfer option, they'll likely have restrictions around transfers, which you'll have to go through to see if you're eligible.
I hope my responses are useful.
Thank you
